The Sure-To-Gain-Friends-For-Life-And-Win-Over-Enemies Dip Recipe

I wonder if Dale Carnegie included "French Quarter Cheese" in his book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People." Cause he totally should have. Maybe it will go in future publications.

This dip was introduced to me at an Easter Dinner. It sat quietly on the counter--rather innocent--and called to me. I was craving something sweet and this nutty, brown sugar goodness looked like some kind of Tastefully Simple cream cheese mixture. But to my utter surprise (and joy and happy taste buds), it was so much more. It was sweet, sour, tangy, crunchy, and creamy all wrapped up together.

I'd eat it with Wheat Thins. They're addictive in the first place. Add this French Quarter Cheese to those little squares and you have another glimpse of heaven. It won't last long, so strategize and figure out just how you won't miss out on at least one little Wheat Thin goodness. Enjoy!

What You Need
  • 1 package 8-ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated onion
  • 5 Tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans
What To Do
  • Combine cream cheese, garlic, and onion with a fork.
  • Shape into 6” x 1” disk, place on serving dish, and refrigerate.
  • Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan, heating until butter melts.
  • Cover chilled cheese with nut mixture.
  • Wrap and chill.
  • Serve and room temperature with Wheat Thins.
This is great for a Christmas Party, baby showers, funerals (I'm guessing), work get togethers, I-want-to-impress-my-small-group groups, and other times you just want to get a little verbal affirmation (since words of affirmation just may be your love language; if in doubt, see earlier Love Language post) that you did something good. Yummmmm...
